The RIT Aero Design Team designs, builds, and flies remote-controlled aircraft. The team is comprised of 25 members across various majors at RIT.
For the 2023-24 academic year, we are looking to compete in the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Design, Build, Fly Competition in Wichita, Kansas. The team is also developing a fully functional RC turbojet engine.
Gifts received will be used for our participation in the AIAA competition as well as general team support. Please consider making a gift to our organization and showing your support for RIT Aero Design.

Thanks to the generosity of Alan Franz ’91 and P ’27, the first team to reach their financial goal will receive a $2,500 bonus and the team with the highest number of gifts will receive a $2,500 bonus.
A gift at this level supports research and development to ensure a cutting-edge design.
A gift at this level contributes toward essential tools and equipment to bring our design to reality.
A gift at this level allows students to apply classroom learning in a hands-on way, cultivate team camaraderie, purchase components, and build and test prototypes in preparation for competition.
Giving at this level enables students to develop their project management and leadership skills, and travel to national and international competitions.
